1-18-07 Dihtri gets a new job and leaves the MAB. Members quickly notice that she is still attending MAB meetings, but now as staff. Congrats Dihtri!

4-9-07 Vash announces sweeping changes to the There Forums
Vash - "Over the years our forums have been a good source of information, member-to-member help, and a fun place to chat about the exciting things happening in There. It has also been a source of less-than-desirable behavior, and over the past months, one of the most common sentiments we've heard about the forums is "I stay out of them because I don't want to get caught up in the drama." Naturally, this isn't what we want for one of our best information resources. We have also received requests for posting guidelines that are spelled out more clearly. As a result, we thought this would be a good time to make some changes that we hope will provide a better, more welcoming environment for members (new and old) who come looking for help, news, and discussion.
The first change is a new, more detailed set of Forum Guidelines. These guidelines will be posted at the top of every section and provide specific detail about what is allowed and not allowed in our forums. (Note: With a few obvious exceptions, these behaviors are things we have been moderating for already.) Everyone should read through these guidelines at least once and become familiar with them.
The next changes are the addition, removal, or repurposing of some boards:
1. Advertisements & Announcements will be divided into two separate boards. One will be focused exclusively on the announcement of new developer items, and the other will be a general "marketplace", where members can discuss items they'd like to buy or sell. Announcements about in-world events should now be placed in Buzz.
2. Economy & Pricing - This section will be removed. Over time, the vast majority of threads in this area have become focused on the buying/selling of Therebucks or other items, which was not the original intent. These types of posts are more appropriate for the "marketplace" section.
3. "Developers: General Discussion" and "Developers: Builders" will be combined into one section.
4. Perhaps the biggest change is the removal of the "Rants and Raves" section. As stated in our new guidelines, "Ranting is posting irate, unconstructive (usually vague) comments to 'blow off steam.' This is considered a form of trolling since ranting does little but end up in flame wars." The R&R section has always been a place of contention within our forums. It is often misused, and we no longer want to encourage the kind of feedback and behavior we were seeing in that section. A large number of threads resulted in name calling, personal attacks and, most especially, moderations.
But we still want your feedback, which is why we are changing the name of the "Suggestions" section to "Suggestions and Feedback". We welcome your constructive criticism and comments about our new projects, old bugs, etc.
We hope these changes will help our message boards become a stronger community resource and encourage more people to participate in discussions about what's happening in There."
4-11-07 There annoinces that "customizable Cars" will be coming to There.
Alex - "Today I'm here to tell you that we're going to be introducing this capability to There as soon as possible, possibly as soon as the release following the next one (not this NEXT release, but the one after that). There will have the /same/ capabilities as the ones you see in Virtual Pimp My Ride, with two important differences:
First, we're going to introduce a new type of vehicle with this capability. I'm not going to say what kind of vehicle it will be but we're pretty excited about it.
Second, There's customizable car program will be primarily /developer/ driven. Instead of introducing a plethora of ready made parts, we're going to introduce a very few, and make all the parts (or as many as we can) available as /developer items/. We think this is the best way for everyone to get the most out of this exciting new functionality."

2. New Games - A series of new ways to interact in There. Examples: Backgammon, Chess, Checkers, Poker, Mini Golf, etc.
3. Hugs.
4. New Vehicle Types - 8 seater land and hover vehicles, 2-seater hoverbikes, water boats, developer bacios, etc.
5. A pop-up system alert stating that an avatar is nearing a "No Fly Zone" or another form of early warning system for vehicles approaching "No Fly Zones".
6. Auction Redesign - Better searching, sorting, favorites, watched, new front page, new look and feel.
7. Improved Ignore - Make it so chat bubbles are not viewable by ignored members, kick ignored members from events, ignored persons items cannot affect you.
8. Improve 'My Things' - Creation of a better system for inventory management used for sorting, retrieval and decorating. Including ability to store items in a "closet".
9. Improved Environments - Optional rotating skies on a 4/6 Hour Clock, Aurora Borealis and other sky domes added to environmental toggle, adjustable lighting, etc.
10. Developer hair and/or headgear.
June 27 - There announces deal with Capitol Records
"At least five artists will make appearances in There.com over the next few months in the newly constructed Capitol Music Group venue, The Tower, an exclusive virtual nightclub environment where fans can meet and talk with band members and watch videos from Capitol Music Group artists. Interactive kiosks will be placed in popular locations throughout the virtual world, offering the sale of both virtual and real world merchandise."

July 29- Aug 4 ThereCon 2007 explores outerspace in a week long series of themed sci-fi events! This year the con hotel is located in the Lagoland neighborhood and there were many new and excting events. Most popular was the Moon Lander hoverboat competition in which pilots tried to land inside of a series of craters in a specialy designed hoverboat. Also new was a pack of 7 sci-fi related mods for hand held items, and a brand new Romperball arena.
August
August 10-12 The third official There Real Life Gathering held in Dana Point CA.
Michael wilson gives a dramatic "State of There" presentation. Miracle Pictures screens a special thirty minute preview reel of upcoming productions including scenes form manu upcoming productions including "I Love Basya, The Wizard of Lag, and Broc Lee: Spitwads of Doom!"
There Summer Games has a record setting number of events!
August 20th - The Beastie Boys arrive in there for a chat session and visit the various Tower buildings.
August 24 - Alex welcomes the members of There Philipines into There.com with a forum post. The members migrated have thier own neighborhood set up for them before they arrived.
August 30 - Vah announces changes will be made soon to developer zones to make them less attractive to live in. Many develoeprs unhappy about this change.
August 31 - the second annual There Film Festival is announced. Films need to be turned in by October 31st at noon PDT.

September 9 - Evan and Mackine announce that Just Crazy Talk (There's longest running talk show) would be coming to a close after one more episode.
September 17 - Just Crazy Palk closes down production. Evan gives away the stage.

October 4 - Vash announces the name of the new California shaped island is now officialy called AURORA, after a lengthy contest with members voting on thier favorite name.
October 10 - CosmoGIRL! Becomes First Teen Consumer Magazine to Enter Virtual World.. well ok the event did not happen until November, but the press release surprised many Thereians as much of the content of the CosmoGirl website did fell below the community standards of There.com
October 13 - There Fun Times returns as a shortened monthly e-mail newsletter with some way cool graphics!
October 15 - There hosts a 'Developer Chat' and reveals many upcoming things including node locations for props and upcoming plans for gorup seating releases as well as for customizable vehicles. Developers are happy with the new stylemaker releases including high heels and tall boots! Members still distressed over communication problems. FUZE is announbced as a solution to this. Developers still asking There to release a non butchered version of the Development Zone that would cost the full price of a similar sized PAZ.
October 17 - FUZE beta announced as a new method for communicating issues to there steff. The first step is a beta test phase.
October 23 - GamingVibe's "Thereopoly" Project has been canceled due to some legal and TOS reasons.
October 25 - There holds another beta test to test 'layers'
